Martha Stewart Flowers

After weeks of waiting, Martha Stewart Flowers is up and running again. Yea! She has joined 1-800 Flowers to streamline her flower business. Boo!

What I most loved about Martha Stewart Flowers was 1.) the flowers arrive in a pretty Martha box 2.) the clean presentation style, which involved little greenery, single color, tightly grouped flowers and 3.) the reasonable prices. Now, the presentation style has changed and the prices are higher. Before, she had a beautiful and quite fragrant, I must add, pink oriental lily bouquet. I thought this little arrangement made a perfect "Just Because" or "Happy Birthday" gift at a nice $29.95. But now, they are a whopping $69.95. For lilies. Sacrilege!

Before, Martha also offered several $30 and under options. Value plus quality, always a great combo. And now, they offer only one $40 and under option, which translates to this:

...a mixed purple bouquet of carnations.

My how times have changed. Don't get me wrong, I think single color, tightly grouped carnations can be arranged to look surprisingly chic. Martha herself happens to love carnations presented as such. But this, quel horreur! Martha and I are going to have a little tete-a-tete.

A few bouquets I like, sans price consideration:

Mini Calla Lily Bouquet with Matte Silvered Vase $84.95

Vibrant Ranunculus Bouquet in Silver Julep Cup $64.95

Take a look around at 1800 Flowers and save $10 on MS Flowers when you use Promotion Code: MARTHA1 at checkout.
