Christmas Project!

For friends and co-workers, I intended to give homemade baked goods. As we all know, the Christmas schedule gets tied up, things get busy and time is fleeting. Instead, I opted for this semi-homemade idea (Sandra Lee would be oh so proud).

This project begins with wrapping paper (Tiffany blue pour moi), scissors, paper cutter, double stick tape, cute ribbon, hole punch and a Christmasy label. Oh yes, and a Hershey chocolate bar. I like the ones with the silver wrapper.

Next, use the chocolate wrapper to measure the wrapping paper and cut. (I used the paper cutter to even out my un-even cutting.)

After cutting the wrapping paper to size, affix with the double sided tape. Measure ribbon and cut. Then tie a square knot.

Et, voila! So, it's not a diamond ring inside this Tiffany blue paper, but tastier!

The Stockings Were Hung...

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season. Today was my last day of work until January 5th! I'm officially on Christmas break - woohoo!

My apartment is sans mantle, so this is makeshift. I simply couldn't not put up my Simply Shabby Chic Christmas stockings. After I searched 5+ Targets for the pair, no way were these cutesies staying in the storage bin. And what is it about white lights on a Christmas tree that just warm a room? Oh, how I love Christmastime!

Off to shop tomorrow....

Call Me Tim, the Tool Man Taylor

One of the first things I noticed after moving in to my new apartment....my shower head. A shower head can make or break a shower. And this one, my friends, was awful. It sprayed water on the perimeter of the shower head, but no water in the middle. So, to wash one's hair, one had to stand on the edge of the tub and lean into the water. Not a pleasant experience, to say the least.

Tonight, after a routine trip to Wal-Mart, I installed a new shower head!! Yes, it was technically just a unscrew the old one and screw on the new one type ordeal, but an accomplishment nonetheless. If you haven't noticed, I'm not really the Mr. Fix It type. (I have a pink plastic toolbox with pink tools.) And best of all, it's green (as in eco-friendly).

I called my Dad immediately to let him know that his non-Mr. Fix it type daughter had, in fact, taken her first step to fixin' somethin'. Yeehaww.
