First-Timer

Unlike a lot of my friends and counterparts, I didn't grow up with fast food, baseball, and pop culture movies and music. My mom prepared delicious meals at home. When we weren't going to dance, gymnastics or beauty pageants :) and did have time to watch tv or movies, we watched Martha Stewart, decorating shows or Disney classics (i.e. Troop Beverly Hills, Big Business, etc.). I didn't know who the Atlanta Braves were until I was in the 3rd grade. Shortly after, I also discovered McDonald hamburgers for the first time ever. So knowing this, you won't find it hard to believe that I saw National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation for the first time ever this past Thursday night.

So, when our friend Jonathan proposed the idea of going to the Alabama Theatre for the Christmas Vacation showing, I was beyond excited. No one could believe that they had a first-timer among them. I was watching Miracle on 34th street (old 1940s version) while everyone else was watching Chevy Chase and Randy Quaid. As it was such a momentous experience, I decided to document with photos.

Here's the front of the house. Isn't it beautiful? It's such an old, historic building.

This wonderful man came out right before the movie began and led us in Christmas carols!!! The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
