Journey to Ikea

On Saturday, I woke up at 5:30 a.m., pulled myself out of bed and headed straight for the Ikea in Atlanta. I wanted to arrive promptly at 10 a.m. to be there when they opened the doors! I was on a mission for the Lack coffee table.

This wasn't my first Ikea journey. Oh no. I went about a year and a half ago. I remember really liking the stuff but feeling rushed, crammed, and disoriented. So, this time I was better prepared to deal with the crowds and ready to peruse, peruse, peruse.

Here she is! I arrived at 10:05 a.m. I must say, I'm so glad I did. I got to park in the actual lot rather than the humongous deck and the store was practically empty.

First, I headed to the upper level showroom. I loved looking at the displays - interior inspiration!

This is the bed that's in the above post. I loved this entire display - modern meets Americana. I thought it would be a great look for a lake home or cabin.

Great deal on a leaner mirror. Sleek lines and white. Perfect combo.

This display made my heart sing. Soft pastels and white, covered headboard, chandelier......

Even though offspring is nowhere in sight anytime soon, I had to look at the children's section. I loved this duvet cover. Mr. and Mrs. Frog...kissing.

I'm yearning for a gallery wall display. So I snapped a picture of this one. I'll definitely come back for Ikea's frames once I have everything planned out.

Surprisingly, I really liked this kitchen. Obviously I liked the white. But I was surprised I liked the mod look so much. This reminds me of the 1960s kitchens. The storage was great in this one.

Farmhouse sink....be still my heart.

Double basin farmhous sink! Yes and yes.

Aren't these candles fab? They have gingham and polka dots!

After my journey to Ikea, sustenance was needed. Badly. I headed to one of my favorite places in Atlanta - Star Provisions. I think this is by far one of the best places on earth. I ordered a bottled diet coke (love these!) shrimp po boy sandwich and cucumber salad. I die.

And, here's what I came home with. A tray, flowers, three vases, a schoolhouse clock, light blue napkins, pink candles, a pillow and blanket. Oh and a coffee table. I'll post pictures later to show where these items now call home. Ikea = winning.

I cannot believe that you were so restrained with your purchases! Ikea is like my kryptonite, even if I go in with a set list I can never help but buy wayyyy more than planned.

Are you going to bling out the Lack Tables with nail head trim ala Better Homes and Garden's July Issue?

I sure hope so...
