Callaway Gardens, Part Deux

So, when I said, I would post the Callaway Gardens part two pictures tomorrow, I really meant about five to six days. This week just caught up with me. Okay, so here is the rest of the journey.

In the spirit of enjoying childhood fun at a senior citizens resort, we decided to continue the evening. What did we do? Here's a hint:

That's right, we went bowling.  I lost twice.

David's moves were just too hard to beat.

A winner-loser post game shot.

The next morning, we got up early and headed straight to our 9 AM reservation at the Treetop Adventure. I really wanted to take pictures to share, but there was no way. Just imagine zip lines, treetop obstacle courses, hopping from log to log 60 feet above ground and you have the jist of it. We were exhausted!

After a quick lunch at the beach pavillion, we tried our hand at shuffleboard. Hey, when in Rome, do as the Romans, right?

Give us any sport and we become uber competitive. I lost twice, here, too. I've got to dust off my athletic skills. The game ended with David wanting to pour concrete and build our very own shuffleboard court. Needless to say, he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

We couldn't leave Callaway without visiting the Butterfly Conservatory. I haven't been here in years, since I visited with my "Granny." She loved it here. I was surprised to see it again. It seemed so much smaller than what I remember. Everything seems so big when you're little, doesn't it?

Anywho, here are some butterflies being "born" from their cocoon. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to a few hours. Isn't that amazing!

I think, not sure, these are two butterflies mating? I felt like a butterfly voyeur interrupting their private moment.

David next to an owl eye butterfly. See the "owl eye" on his wing?

I couldn't resist snapping a photo of this one. It was such a pretty chartreuse-y yellow-green.

This one, particularly liked David.

And before we left, we were lucky enough to catch one of the "Birds of Prey" show. This little owl looks much bigger than he actually he is. He's probably 6 inches tall. Isn't he cute in a scary kinda way?

All in all, an adventurous and exhaustingly fun weekend.

You two look like you had a fun time. Emily had a butterfly garden over the summer and it was fun to watch the process of going from larvae to butterflies.
